A Triathlon Premieres in Poland (video)
A new triathlon debuted this month in northern Poland. On July 12, 2015, the inaugural Bydgoszcz (pronounced sort of like BID-gosht) Triathlon took over that city’s center with three races and a host of family-friendly activities.
This video shows highlights of the swim in the Brda River, known as one of Poland’s cleanest. You can also see the Endless Pools® Original Series pool set up by the event’s co-sponsor (and Poland’s official Endless Pools dealer), Klubben-Polska. It was available for stroke refinement, warm ups, and cool downs.
For the inaugural event, athletes could choose from two beginner-friendly distances – the 1/4, or short distance (950 m swim, 45 km bike, 10,55 km run) and the 1/8, or super-short distance (475 m swim, 22,5 km bike, 5,275 km run) – plus a relay.
Endless Pools has been a proud supporter of the sport of triathlon for more than 20 years. The Bydgoszcz ARS Athletica Association organized this new event, and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for their 2016 sophomore tri!
