Choosing a location for your Endless Pool SWIM SPA™

The Endless Pool Swim Spa arrives pre-plumbed, pre-wired and ready to go. All you need is a solid, level surface and two 220-volt, 30-amp GFCI electric circuits. Our swim spa can be installed indoors or outside, in-ground or aboveground. Some typical locations are shown in the table to the right.
The Endless Pool Swim Spa comes standard with a thermal
floating cover that controls humidity and keeps in heat but it is
not a safety cover. Our optional bi fold insulating cover controls
humidity, traps in heat and serves as a safety cover for those
who want extra protection.
Indoor Installation Considerations
Pool weight should be considered when selecting a site. When filled with water, the Endless Pool Swim Spa exerts an evenly distributed load of 250 pounds per square foot with a total weight of about 18,500 pounds (1,050 kg). Concrete floors on grade can generally support this weight without issue. Please discuss any concerns you may have with your design professional. Installation on upper floors requires a proper structural engineering evaluation.
The Endless Pool Swim Spa is most easily installed in a ground-floor room. Of course, this assumes that the spa, which measures 7' 10" by 15' (2.39m x 4.74m), can be moved into the room. For new construction, this is straightforward but requires appropriate planning and scheduling. Indoor installations can also be accomplished if a wall can be taken down.
When our swim spa is installed indoors, it is possible to build the floor up around the spa to give it a built-in appearance. If this option is chosen, the cabinetry that comes with the spa can be eliminated altogether. More common, however, is to keep the skirting and integrate that finished look into your design. Keep in mind that access must be provided at both ends of the swim spa for service and maintenance.
Outdoor Installation Considerations
The Endless Pool Swim Spa is suited for year-round, outdoor use in any climate. The fiberglass backed acrylic shell is insulated with foam and the skirting provides additional insulating air space. While the swim spa comes standard with a floating thermal cover, our optional bi fold insulating cover provides 4" of rigid foam insulation while also serving as a safety cover. The efficient two-speed pump operates on low speed to maintain water temperature and works with our thermostatically controlled electric heater.
Outside, any flat level surface can usually accommodate the swim spa. While a poured concrete pad is best, most outdoor hardscapes such as brick or pavers are sufficient to support the swim spa. Keep in mind that differential settlement of the earth beneath the swim spa should always be considered before installation. Because of differential settling, it is always important to have rain or snow melt drain away from the swim spa.
Additionally, because the equipment is located underneath the skirting, this attention to drainage that keeps the cabinet dry will protect the equipment as well. Drainage is especially important for in-ground installations where there is the possibility of a high water table. In the case of a high water table, or rainwater draining towards the cabinetry, suitable drainage using gravity or a sump pump must be provided to keep the ancillary equipment dry and protected. Always be sure to allow access to the two ends for periodic service and maintenance
